This was a complex project associated with the expansion of a major shopping centre in the middle of Derby carried out while trading still continued. BriggsAmasco laid over 21,000 square metres of asphalt to the car park area and 10,500 square metres of polymer modified asphalt to the roof, using an inverted specification. At various periods, over 20 operatives were working at any one time in order to meet the deadlines associated with new store openings, but the whole contract was delivered on time and within budget.

An interesting project with intricate detail work called upon all the traditional skills of our team of expert asphalters working through the winter months. This historic castle, now a part museum and residence, stands above the rugged North Sea coast. Throughout the refurbishment the historic integrity of the buiding was maintained.

Description:

BriggsAmasco is one of the very few companies with the capacity to provide up to twenty directly employed skilled asphalters for a project of this size. Re-surfacing the southbound main span of this famous suspension bridge, working only at weekends, the asphalt was laid in bays by hand to a thickness of 38mm, the material being delivered directly to site in thermostatically controlled hot charge vehicles by Permanite.
