BriggsAmasco undertook 30,000m2 of roofing works at the £130m Elements Square shopping centre in Livingston, Scotland.
The 375,000 sq ft centre adjoins the existing Almondvale Shopping Centre to create almost 1million sq ft of retail space which will now be known as The Centre. More than 7,000 workers spent an incredible 1.5 million hours on the site delivering the contemporary new shopping centre.

BriggsAmasco undertook resurfacing at King's Cross Station, improving platforms and walkways, as part of the station's wider redevelopment programme. A team of eight BriggsAmasco operatives and managers carried out works throughout the night on a shift basis over a three month period. Using a mastic asphalt system laid across concrete floor slabs, platforms one to eight will each benefit from new surfaces, following removal of any existing asphalt. The new asphalt has been mixed with luminous sand which provides both an aesthetically pleasing finish whilst offering a good foot grip and finish. Work by BriggsAmasco is being carried out in rotation with other trades and close communication and a flexible approach by the wider project team is key to the ongoing success of this scheme.

Description:

These two roof complexes form a large and prestigious part of Westfield’s new shopping centre on the edge of the 2012 Olympic Park. Both areas were weathered with an inverted Mastic Asphalt system with a wide range of finishes including both green & brown roof coverings. The material was delivered directly to site in thermostatically controlled hot charge vehicles. The asphalt was lifted to roof level in luggars by our cranes, before being applied by BriggsAmasco directly employed labour.
